2006 Asian Women In Business Leadership Awards Dinner
Eleventh Anniversary Gala

Celebrating Eleven Years of Excellence

Tuesday, October 17, 2006

Over 650 supporters of Asian Women In Business attended the 2006 AWIB Leadership Awards Dinner to toast the accomplishments of Asian women as entrepreneurs and corporate leaders as well as celebrate the Eleventh Anniversary of the organization.

AWIB's Leadership Dinners bring to public attention the positive impact Asian women make on the economy and community. Each year we honor a select few women, who are high achievers in the business world and are active voices in the community. Often these women have overcome substantial economic, gender and racial barriers as they blazed their paths to the top.

AWIB feted six extraordinary women this year. From an immigrant who came to this country as an adult without speaking English, to a structural engineer from an Ivy League college, these women selected from hundreds of candidates stand out as truly inspiring role models.

The evening included a cocktail reception followed by sit down dinner. An exciting Silent Auction featuring a dazzling array of designer handbags to antique collectibles, sports memorabilia to exquisite one of a kind jewelry kept guests engaged through the evening. Adding color to the evening was the ever-popular paper cutter Master Cheng. During the Dinner, Mieko and her Flamenco Troupe had guests tapping their feet with her enthralling dance performance. A raffle draw rounded out the evening featuring hot ticket items such as round trip tickets from Cathay Pacific, an HD-LCD TV from Haier Home and a deluxe gift basket from Borghese.

The emcee for the event was Vivian Lee, WNBC, News Channel 4.

The Leadership Awards Dinner is AWIB's fundraiser for the year, and proceeds will go towards supporting AWIB's 2007 programs and services.

A special thank you to our corporate sponsors for their unwavering support of Asian Women In Business.
