2004 AWIB Leadership Dinner
Ninth Anniversary Gala

Celebrating Asian Women Achievers ... Inspiring Tomorrow's Leaders

October 25, 2004

Asian Women In Business honored dynamic Asian women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders from across the country who are trailblazers in their industry and champions of their communities. This year's Leadership Dinner was held Monday, October 25 at Bridgewaters located at the heart of South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan. This annual event has grown increasingly popular each year and was reflected in the number of nominations we received for the Awards as well as the great turnout we had.

The celebration also marked AWIB's Ninth Anniversary of providing programs and services to the small business community.

This year AWIB honored seven exceptional women - leaders and exemplary achievers in their fields and and active participants in the community.

The 2004 AWIB Entrepreneurial Leadership Award was given to:

Marissa Teves Beck, President, Advanced Professional Marketing Inc
Eleanor Wang Felbaum, President and General Manager, Vacaville Pontiac-Buick-GMC
Saori Kawano, President, Korin Japanese Trading Corp.
Hosneara Malik, CEO, Syntho Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

The 2004 AWIB Corporate Leadership Award was given to:

Cynthia Park, EVP/Managing Director, Young & Rubicam/Kang & Lee Advertising
Kathleen Rainey, Director, Associate Information Systems, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc
Lili Zheng, Deputy Managing Partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP

AWIB's Leadership Awards have received much critical acclaim, resulting in an unprecedented number of Corporate Sponsors many of whom have supported Asian Women In Business since its inception in 1995.

Vivian Lee, Reporter, NBC, was Mistress of Ceremony for the evening.

The evening began with a reception 6:00 PM, which included a special sake tasting, followed by the Dinner and Awards Ceremony at 7:00 PM. An extensive silent auction was held throughout the evening. Sarina Jain of Masala Dance and Fitness and Magician Maritess Zurbano provided the entertainment.

Proceeds from the 2004 Leadership Awards Dinner will go towards supporting AWIB's 2005 programs and services.
