The AWIB 2001 Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony

 Sixth anniversary celebrated on October 17, 2001


Asian Women In Business (AWIB) celebrated its sixth anniversary at a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on October 17, 2001. The event was held at the Hilton New York Hotel, located at 1335 Avenue of the Americas/53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan.

The keynote speaker was Yue-Sai Kan, veteran journalist, EMMY Award winning television personality, best-selling author, and Founder and Chair of Yue-Sai Kan Cosmetics and Yue-Sai Kan Educational Toy Co. The Mistress of Ceremony was Juju Chang, Correspondent, ABCNews' 20/20.

The AWIB Entrepreneurial Leadership Award and the AWIB Corporate Leadersip Award were given to successful Asian women leaders who have excelled in their business and professional lives, while giving back to the community.

AWIB's Gala Dinners have received much critical acclaim, as indicated by the large number of Corporate Sponsors many of whom have supported Asian Women In Business since its inception in 1995. The Sixth Anniversary Gala featured an evening long silent auction with products ranging from R/T airline tickets on Cathay Pacific Airlines, bottles of Hennessy XO Cognac to all day beauty spas.

The Reception started at 6:00 PM and the Dinner and Awards Ceremony began at 7:00 PM. The fee was $175 for AWIB members; $200 for Non-Members and $500 for Sponsors.
