Success Stories: Amy Ling Lin, Twenty-Something CEO

Join AWIB as we take an up close and personal look at Asian women entrepreneurs at their place of business for our Success Story series. This is a great opportunity to get an "inside scoop" on running a business straight from the women behind it all.

For the Fall, we are featuring Amy Ling Lin, Founder and CEO of sundays studios. Innovative, smart, and entrepreneurial, when Amy started her own chain of studios, it was an immediate success and the proceeds paid for tuition at Columbia Business School, where she graduated with an MBA in 2016.

From first hand knowledge, Amy realized how harmful the ingredients in nail polish are - to both the customer and employee - and from this, sundays was born. Sundays' nail care products and services are non-toxic, cruelty-free, and vegan, ensuring an environment free of the toxins that come with traditional nail polishes. Amy's studios are fashioned like spas, creating an open, peaceful environment, and offer massages and guided meditation in addition to hand and foot treatments.

With locations in NoMad and at Saks Fifth Avenue, this twenty-something entreprener has already built a name for herself and has been featured in Vogue, Elle, Wall Street Journal, Refinery29, and InStyle, to name a few. Between running her studios, hosting off-site events (i.e. Henri Bendel and other upscale venues), and selling her nail care products, Amy Ling Lin's success story is only just beginning.

A lucky few will win raffle prizes of gift cards for sundays' services and a sampling of non-toxic nail polish. All will be treated to this unique opportunity to get to know Amy as we relax in sundays' second floor lounge over drinks and lite bites while networking with the AWIB community.

Space is extremely limited.

Franchising Do's and Don'ts

If you are thinking of buying a franchise, understanding the marketplace, the legal ramifications and costs involved is critical to becoming a successful franchisee. But before you make a decision, get first-hand information from those who are already in the business.

AWIB's must attend workshop will feature a panel of franchisees, franchisors, and legal and financial experts who will share their experiences over a delicious Bonchon dinner. As you may know, Bonchon is a fast growing franchisor, specializing in Korean cuisine, and they will welcome us with a special dinner menu designed for our group. This unique event provides you with an opportunity to tap into the minds of those who have experienced the franchise business from different perspectives, be it legal, financial, or as a franchisor/franchisee.  Learn from the experts!
