Asian Women In Business Scholarship Fund
New York, NY (June 29, 2010) - Asian Women in Business (AWIB) is accepting scholarship applications from dynamic Asian female undergraduates. AWIB welcomes all Asian women currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college to apply for this $2,500 scholarship designed to reward and encourage future leaders.
Created in 2007, this nationwide scholarship program is listed as one of the most prestigious scholarships for Asian women by Financial Aid Finder. Recipients of the AWIB scholarship must demonstrate strong leadership skills or entrepreneurship while maintaining a 3.0 (out of 4.0) academic average. This is a need-blind scholarship. Applications will be accepted until August 1, 2010.
AWIB’s scholarship has improved the lives of Asian women across the country. Bonnie Wong, President of AWIB, states that “young Asian females need be encouraged and supported when they give back to the community. Our scholars exemplify how giving our young people are and how much they can accomplish when they are committed to a cause.”
One of AWIB’s 2009 Award winner, Melanie Chow, Brown University stated when she accepted the scholarship, “with the recognition and the support of the AWIB scholarship, I can continue my work in the Asian American community and empower others to promote Asians in the business realm. Thank you AWIB, for the encouragement and for believing that I can make a difference now and in the future!”
In a similar vein, Kao Thao, a AWIB 2008 scholarship winner, UC Berkeley, stated, “I am inspired to help, lead, support, and be a trailblazer for other young Asian female students. As a recipient, I believe that the Asian Women in Business Scholarship Award is an opportunity for me to act and take a step towards delivering my big dreams into big impacts.”
These scholarships are funded by corporate donors and individuals, many of whom dedicate the scholarships in honor of loved ones.
