Council Member Liu & Community Leaders to Kick-off Workshop
to Support Business Opportunities
Flushing, NY (April 27, 2009) - Council Member John C. Liu will join with Asian Women in Business (AWIB) and community leaders to kick-off an upcoming workshop designed to assist entrepreneurs looking for new strategies to sell their products/services by becoming certified as a minority or women-owned business for City contracts. This workshop, which is part of overall efforts to expand City procurement opportunities to women- and minority-owned businesses, is free and open to the public. Advance registration is required and is one a first-come-first-served basis. Registration forms are available online at www.awib.org
