Speak Up and Speak Out: Mastering the Art of Public Speaking
 
 
Being an effective public speaker is a skill you can learn. Whether you have an upcoming public speaking engagement or just want to give a presentation that leaves a lasting impression with your colleagues, this workshop will give you the tools you need to communicate more confidently, comfortably, and effectively with groups of people. Our interactive workshop will be led by Robyn Hatcher, founder and CEO of SpeakEtc., a communication and presentation skills training company.  Robyn has given this workshop for AWIB several times and the reviews by attendees have been uniformly fantastic.

Lunar New Year Reception @ the Metropolitan Museum of Art

Metropolitan MuseumOur second celebration in February, AWIB members and supporters are invited to this exclusive Lunar New Year reception and viewing to welcome in the Year of the Ram. Join us for a reception in the Temple of Dendur and enjoy a private viewing of The Art of the Chinese Album. This exhibition explores ways that artists have used this format from the twelfth century to the present. 

Of course, we will have lions welcoming us and bringing good fortune. The keynote speaker for the evening is the Honorable Grace Meng, member of the U.S. Congress.

Spring Pot Luck Dinner for AWIB Members 


We are celebrating the start of spring with an Asian themed potluck dinner for AWIB members and their guests. Feel free to bring your favorite food- anything and everything Asian is welcome. Each attendee (including your guest) is asked to bring a dish enough for 4-5 people or if you don’t have the time, you can just pay $25 (per person registered), and we’ll do the rest. Enjoy an evening with AWIB friends and feast on the food and drinks you love.

RSVP
is required by March 17, 2015. When you RSVP, please indicate which item you and your guest will be bringing so we can avoid duplication.  As the date gets closer, we will review the list and if necessary, assign people to bring items that might still be needed.

Raising the Bar: Asian Women Partners in Major Firms

AWIB's fifth year of highlighting Asian women legal professionals during our annual Raising the Bar legal forum.  This year, we will be talking to and learning from the experiences of Asian women who are equity partners in major law firms in the United States.  There will be a panel discussion followed by a reception.  Registration will open soon.
