This much anticipated and talked about exhibition explores the impact of Chinese aesthetics on Western fashion and how China has fueled the fashionable imagination for centuries. Organized by The Costume Institute in collaboration with the Department of Asian Art, AWIB members are invited to a private viewing and reception (in the Temple of Dendur).

If you are a member and have not received an invite, email us at info@awib.org and we will rectify the situation.

Indian Cuisine Paired With Tequila

Tequila has developed a following beyond its home borders.  Its unique and complex flavors come out during the aging process but to fully enjoy the experience, you need to understand the science to pairing it with food.

Join us for a multi-course Indian dinner and hear from one of the nation’s top tandoor masters, Executive Chef and Michelin-starred restauranteur Hemant Mathur.  He will talk about the dishes he has created for us and how he is bringing Indian regional foods into focus at his six eateries.

And, learn about the various tequilas and how to pair it with food.  Joining us is Araceli Ramos, a tequila master from Jose Cuervo, flying in from Mexico to take part in our dinner, who will share the secrets of bringing out the flavors of tequila when paired with food.   Jose Cuervo is the largest tequila maker in the world with a venerable 200 + year history.

Help us debunk the myth that tequila is only paired with Mexican food. The event is part of AWIB's ongoing Asian food series, exploring the diverse cuisines of Asia fused with a western flair.
