 AWIB Annual Procurement Opportunities Conference

Asian Women in Business understands that for minority and women-owned businesses to grow, they need additional opportunities with corporations and government agencies and as a part of our mission, we strive to build the connections between mwbe's and corporate and government buyers.

On an annual basis, AWIB sponsors a procurement opportunities conference which not only provides information on the processes but also matches pre-qualified minority and women-owned businesses with corporate buyers.

The AWIB 2015 Procurement Opportunities Conference

The conference is designed to foster partnerships for minority and women-owned businesses. Now in its 12th year, the Procurement Conference has become one of the premier events for small businesses in the tri-state area. It is designed to help minority and women owned
firms grow in an increasingly competitive business environment.
MWBE's will meet with government agencies and regional authorities at our extensive exhibition area.  Pre-qualified vendors can also meet one-on-one with Corporations during our corporate matchmaking sessions. The conference also includes industry expert-led panel discussions, which offer valuable insight into the procurement process and how to maximize networking opportunities such as this conference. Those in attendance will make the connections that could propel their businesses forward.

Keynote Speakers:
Scott M. Stringer, New York City Comptroller

Maya Wiley, Esq., Counsel to the Mayor and M/WBE Director

Workshops include:

  • Doing Buisness with Corporate America
  • Marketing to the Government
  • Maximizing Networking Opportunities at Conferences and Meetings
  • Speed Networking -put what you have learned into practise.  This will be facilitated by Robyn Hatcher, Founder and CEO of SpeakEtc., a communication and presentation-skills training company

AWIB Small Business Members are eligible for an exhibition table to showcase their products and/or services. As an exhibitor, they are able to readily network with government and corporate buyers as well as the many small business owners in attendance. More information on becoming a Small Business Member can be found at: www.awib.org/membership.

Online Registration is required to attend the conference and if you also want to be considered for one-on-one appointments, you must complete the Pre-qualification Form. MWBE certification is not required but recommended. There seems to be some confusion so we reiterate, online registration to attend the conference and completion of the pre-qualification form is required to participate in the matchmaking session. The deadline to submit the pre-qualification form is June 10, 2015 (but the earlier we get the completed form the better) and this fillable form should be emailed to us at info@awib.org. Matches are made according to product/service requested by the corporations, and therefore not guaranteed.  As always, AWIB members receive special consideration - if you support us, we support you.
